The Biology students recently spent time "hugging" trees, also known as measuring the circumference of trees, on the school grounds to determine how much carbon is being stored on the school property. We will be learning about the different biogeochemical cycles in the coming weeks, and this specific lab helps students identify where carbon atoms are found and describe how the atoms move through our ecosystems. We also had the opportunity to have Zach Reed from Impact Life, a blood donation organization in the area, come in and speak to us about the importance of blood donation. This organization keeps the donated blood resources in the area to hospitals like Grant Regional and Southwest Health. Zach also did blood typing with students who wanted to learn about their blood type. Later this year we'll be learning about how blood type is inherited from one generation to the next.

Potosi VBS is sponsoring the NIGHT OF FAITH event at Potosi High School tomorrow night on Saturday, October 12th at 7 p.m.! All high school and middle school youth, college students, as well as adults, are invited to attend this free event. The FCA will lead games and have prizes, and this year's keynote speaker is Christian filmmaker and trainer Chris Schroeder of Prime Time Filmz. Worship music will be provided by The Lowborn Band.

We're collecting essential items like: Cleaning supplies 🧹 Soap & body wash 🧼 Toothpaste & toothbrushes 🦷 Razors 🪒 Socks 🧦 Blankets & pillows 🛏️ Gas cards ⛽ School supplies ✏️ This is a quick-turnaround collection — donations will be accepted until Friday morning ⏰. 📍 Donation boxes are located in front of the main office, and one will be placed in the elementary side as well.
