This past week the AP Environmental Science class was able to visit two local streams, the Rockville Rd Branch and Potosi Creek, to do some macroinvertebrate diversity testing, using a dip net and a couple kick nets. We are happy to report that both streams have a variety of organisms living in them, are in beautiful settings, and have crystal clear water. It's fun to see the diversity of life in your own backyard! Special thanks to Richard Graef for letting us sample the Rockville Rd Branch on his property.

Potosi School District has an immediate need for a special education teaching assistant. This will be a full-time position with benefits. Rate of pay is $20.83 per hour, and increases to $21.85 after 60 days. If interested, please send your resume and district application to Christa Abell, district secretary as soon as possible. Preferred candidates will have experience working with special needs and possess a 2-year associate degree, though not required. We will provide necessary training for the right person who has a willingness to learn and shows patience and compassion for students with special needs. The PHS and CHS volleyball teams are hosting a fundraiser for Childhood Cancer on October 10th, with all proceeds going to Chasing Rainbows. T-shirts are available for pre-order until September 23rd at: https://fight-night.itemorder.com , with part of the sales supporting the cause. A bucket raffle will also be held at the event. If you'd like to donate items for the raffle, please drop them off at the HS office by October 8th. We hope to see you at the game on October 11th!
