Other Information:
At Potosi Schools we witness how important it is for students of all ages to have the necessary amount of food to perform their best throughout a school day. We are happy with our breakfast and lunch programs and know that many families take advantage of our food service choices almost every day. But, we also know these choices come at a cost for our families. One way that the federal government helps with these costs to families is by providing a free and reduced meal option for those that qualify. The savings can be substantial. See the scenarios below for students that eat school breakfast and lunch every day. Ale Cart items are not included in price reductions.
Elementary Student
Lunch $3.05 x 176 days = $536.80
Breakfast $1.80 x 176 days = $316.80
Total = $853.60 for an Elementary Student to eat every day
MS/HS Student
Lunch $3.30 x 176 days = $580.80
Breakfast $1.80 x 176 days = $316.80
Total = $897.60 for MS/HS Student to eat every day
Reduced Student (All grades)
Lunch $0.40 x 176 days = $70.40
Breakfast $0.30 x 176 days = $52.80
Total = $123.20 for a student to eat every day
So an Elementary student would save $730.40 this year
A MS/HS student would save $774.40 this year
