Happy LAST Throwback Thursday of Choose Love Awareness Month! Each Thursday throughout Choose Love Awareness Month, we have shared memories of students using the Choose Love Formula (Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love). This week we are featuring various ways that we choose love in our daily lives in Potosi School District. Below are memories of students as they have a lot of fun and while showing compassion in action through making compassion hearts, and helping their classmates.

Save the date! The Potosi Music Department will be putting on their Pops Concert on Tuesday, March 11 @ 7 PM. All grade 6-12 band and choir students will be performing famous songs from films and your rock and pop favorites. All are welcome to attend!

5th through 8th grade girls enjoyed a great day at UW-Platteville for STEM Day. This is an opportunity for them to learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They were able to attend many different sessions ranging from creating marble roller coasters to learning about the respiratory system through hands on experiments.

Native Bee Fundraiser The Potosi Environmental Club is selling native bee houses with native prairie flowers for $30 this spring to raise money for our club. Our club uses the money to travel to WI state parks, restore native prairies and woodlands, and build bat houses and bluebird houses. These native bee houses are NOT for honey bees, but for the hundreds of native bee species in Wisconsin that use tiny, hollow holes in plant stems or log-like structures. Mason bees and Leafcutter bees are two types of Large, Dark Bees that may nest in your bee house. A Carpenter bee is another type of Small Dark Bee that may nest in your bee house, in addition to many other possible species. When you purchase your $30 Bee House Kit you will receive: Log Bee House with hanging hardware Native Bee Resource Guide Native Prairie seeds that will cover approximately 10 sq ft (Purple Prairie Clover, Little Bluestem, Purple Coneflower, Wild Bergamot, Black-eyed Susan, and Smooth Blue Aster) that can be sown this spring, and will grow and flower this summer. The Native Bee House Kits will be sold on a first come, first serve basis (we have approximately 30 kits available). Due to the school cancelation policy of Platteville School District, the PC Girls' Basketball game at Platteville is postponed until Friday, February 21st

Hello, Due to the predicted weather forecast, there will be a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, February 18th for Potosi Schools.

This year, our 5th grade class is penpals with 5th grade Choose Love Youth Ambassadors who attend Goshen Intermediate School in Goshen New York. They were excited to receive their first letters back from their pen pals and eagerly wrote back to learn more about them, what it's like living in New York, and what Choose Love activities look like in their school. #ChooseLove
