Earlier this month, Potosi Middle High School students and district staff had the opportunity to hear from mental health advocate Kody Green, who visited our school to share his powerful personal story.
Kody spoke openly about his journey living with Undifferentiated Schizophrenia, overcoming adversity, navigating mental health challenges, and rebuilding his life after incarceration. His honesty, resilience, and message of hope left a meaningful impact on everyone who attended.
We are grateful for his willingness to share his experience and help us continue important conversations around mental health and support. 🧠💛

Ms. Oyen's 2nd Graders just wrapped up their CKLA Unit 2 on Early Asian Civilizations, and they had such a great time learning! 🎉
Throughout the unit, they explored what life was like long ago—jobs, cities, writing, religion, and leaders in ancient Asian civilizations. They also read several stories and legends, including The Magic Paintbrush, The Blind Men and the Elephant, and The Tiger, the Brahman, and the Jackal. The kids loved hearing these tales passed down through generations.
To celebrate their learning, they made Chinese lanterns like the ones used during Chinese New Year to represent good luck and a bright future. 🏮 They also drew the Great Wall of China—one of the wonders of the world—and practiced writing their names using the Chinese writing system with characters.
So proud of all the hard work and curiosity from these amazing 2nd graders! ❤️🌏

Mrs. Uppena's 3rd grade class had a field trip today to the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra! Students learned about the instruments in music class with Mr. Ray Calderon and Mr. Brandon Morley. And then at the concert, we got to see them in action.

The school celebrated its 1st Quarter Awards today! It was a tough job selecting winners this quarter because so many students have been working hard and showing growth every single day. 🎉
As a fun surprise, some students had their names drawn from the Pride Tickets and got to take part in “donut bobbing”! 🍩😄 Great job to all of our students—keep up the amazing work! 🌟Thank you to Vesperman Farms for donating the donuts!

Weekly events for Potosi High School: November 17-21 #GoPC #PotosiPride

Congratulations to today's winner!

This weekend, Mrs. Haverland traveled to the Museum of Wisconsin Art to share a lesson she developed for our 6th grade students on the design styles of Wisconsin architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Students learned to identify Wright’s unique design choices and were then challenged to incorporate those styles while constructing their own chair.
Using our students’ creations as inspiration, art educators at the event jumped right in and designed their own Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired furniture! Our 6th grade artists received countless compliments from everyone who attended—they should be incredibly proud of their accomplishments! 🎨🪑✨
