And another person from our stage crew of "Little Shop of Horrors": Antonio Bandres, Sophomore, is an exchange student from Spain. This is his first musical and he also does basketball, football and baseball. He would like to say hi to siblings and parents back home. Some of our students went to UW-Platteville to attend the Women in STEM Careers Day. They did hands on activities and worked with future and current engineers from Trane Technologies!

And another person from our stage crew of "Little Shop of Horrors": Kaia Kerkenbush , Sophomore, has been in 1 previous play and I am in stage crew. "I am the curtain guy and that’s my job. It’s mine. I think this play is gonna be sweet and look out for the curtains because that’s probably me doing it. Hope you all enjoy the show." And another person from our stage crew of "Little Shop of Horrors": Drew Richardson, Sophomore, from Potosi High School. He has been in past productions such as horror high, the sagebrush sidekicks, and the wizard of oz. He enjoys sports and hanging out with friends. He also looks forward to being in future productions.

The AR Party was today! Students heard a reader's theater by Mrs. Hawes and some football players, and they also got cupcakes and ice cream. Congrats to all of these readers! Way to reach your goals!

On Wednesday, the high school Spanish classes went to the Latino Arts Museum in Milwaukee to see the Dia de los Muertos altar exhibit. They ate lunch at the museum and participated in a Yolotl Hearts workshop. Yolotl hearts represent the importance of the heart and soul in Aztec philosophy and spirituality.

The sixth graders created artifacts and murals for a Middle East Museum as a culminating activity for their social studies units on Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. Elementary classes came to visit last week!

Let's meet some of the cast and crew of "Little Shop of Horrors". Lorali Groom (Stage crew), a Freshman, is excited to be helping for the first time with the stage crew for Little Shop of Horror. I thank my parents Tara and Jeremy Groom for driving me to the school and picking me up. The show is Saturday, November 9th at 7pm, and Sunday, November 10th at 2pm.

The PHS FCA carved pumpkins last week as an object lesson for personal development, then shared the jack-o-lanterns with the school on Halloween. Online voting took place, and three pumpkins emerged as crowd favorites!




The sixth graders spent their Social Emotional Learning time last week in a panel discussion led by Mrs. Sara Davis, who brought in some high school students to answer questions that the class had prepared for them ahead of time. Topics such as leadership skills, time management skills, study habits, and character traits were discussed!


Sixth graders in Mr. Erschen's and Mrs. Siegert's classes wrote Patriot's Pen essays for the VFW contest and as part of their English classes, addressing the prompt "My Voice in America's Democracy." Students created slides to accompany their essays as they read them aloud in class.
