Thank you to Gail Steiner for the monetary donation allowing us to purchase a copy of the book "Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You" by Jason Reynolds, a Remix of Ibram X. Kendi's "Stamped From the Beginning" for each of our Sociology students. The Sociology class is going to complete a book study during our upcoming 'Racism and Prejudice Unit'. The book study will give students the opportunity to discuss Systemic Racism throughout the world starting back in the 1400s including right here in the United States and provide insightful ideas for students to use to identify racist thoughts and work towards a better future.
The scrap metal collection next to the Football field is a school fundraiser and all proceeds are donated to various Potosi student projects which has included the Outdoor Athletic facility, Keith Livens Auditorium and currently the paved Student Walking Path. As warm weather approaches and people start cleaning out their garage, please consider saving all your scrap metal, electric cords, anything metal and put these items in the red dumpster next to the football field. Please no TV or computer. Thank you for your support.
