After visiting Papa Murphy's, Mrs. Uppena’s 3rd grade class headed to The Big M and Smith Park for even more fun and adventure! A big thank you goes out to the parent volunteers and Ms. Elle for coming along and helping throughout the day. Your support and time are truly appreciated! 💙🍕⛰️🛝

Last week, Mrs. Uppena’s 3rd grade class took a field trip to Papa Murphy's for a fun, hands-on learning experience!

A huge thank you to Mary Sheckler and the team at Papa Murphy’s for welcoming the class into the store to practice real-world fractions and weighing skills while making their own pizzas to take home and bake! Students used scales to measure the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and followed fraction recipe cards to add the correct amounts of each ingredient to their pizzas.

The class also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the store and learned how pizza dough is made. It was an exciting day full of learning, teamwork, and lots of fun! 🍕📚

What an amazing day in 3rd grade! They finally got to meet their pen pals in person! They all went to the planetarium at Loras College in Dubuque. Since both classes have been studying the solar system in CKLA, the visit was a perfect match for what they've been learning, and everyone loved it!

Afterward, lunch was spent at the park eating and playing together. Nobody wanted the day to end! It was also so special to see Ms. Shay Soppe again, who was our student teacher back in kindergarten. Wonderful memories were made!

Class of 2027 Junior Prom was held last weekend at Holiday Gardens, and it was truly a night to remember ✨

Mrs. Haverland took a 7th and an 8th grade team to the Tri-State Battle of the Books hosted by Dubuque Community Schools. Students have been reading selected books since March and today put their knowledge of those books to the test. Our 7th grade team finished 3rd place, while our 8th grade team finished 5th. It’s was fun to watch them compete and be excited about the books they read!

Potosi Elementary focuses on a different character trait each month. April's trait was CARING. These students showed exceptional character in school and therefore were treated to pizza with Mr. Uppena! Congratulations to all the winners!

We are one week away from Fine Arts Night and the excitement is building! The Art Show features work from all our artists in grades 4K-12th grade and will be open from 5pm - 7pm. Please enter through the high school. The Spring Concert begins at 6pm and will feature the 5-12 grades band and choir!
