The Grant County Health Dept. is offering children currently in grades 1st through 7th grade (2nd through 8th in the Fall), the opportunity to attend Youth Safety Day, a free one-day safety camp at the fairgrounds in Lancaster on Tuesday, June 9th. Youth Safety Day is designed to provide youth with the skills to keep their families and themselves safe on the farm and around the home. Sign your child up for this free activity today!

Mrs. Hawes from the library welcomed Mr. Cummins’ fourth grade class to learn about the history of Potosi. After their history lesson, the students visited the Badger Hut Trail and the historic British Hollow Smelter for a hands-on look at our local heritage. What a wonderful day of learning local history and exploring the places that helped shape our community! 📚🏞️⛏️

The 5th graders visited the 6th graders for four class periods on Friday, May 15th, to get a feel for what middle school will be like next year!

The Freshmen class have been working through the Lifeblocks program which emphasizes ten life skills such as Cultural Competence and Sensitivity, Financial Literacy, and Ethical Decision Making. Recently, the class explored Civic Responsibility and Engagement with a visit from PHS alum and resident Gary David (David Woodworking). David shared photos and stories of his time in and out of Potosi, the shared work he has done with the restoration of the Brewery and Bottling House area, as well as the downtown revitalization project. Students learned about offering their time, treasure, and talent and putting in the work with other community members to realize their creative visions. Thank you, Gary, for sharing your time and offering positive encouragement to our young people!

In case you didn't already know, the Potosi Graduating Class of 2026 will be parading around town tonight, Friday May 15th, at approximately 5:45 pm. Their route will go towards Bunker Hill St, Tennyson St., East St., Main St., and Crest View Dr. Please come outside and show your support if you are willing and able.

Exciting day at the Brewers' Game for "math day"!! The 7th and 8th grade students saw a great game against the Padres with the Brewers winning 7-1!!

The middle school had a money drawing for all the students who sold the goal for this year's fundraiser. This year's top 3 sellers were Keaton Udelhofen, Sylas Stevens and Carter Haas.
