Meanwhile, the 7th grade class ran the school store for all of the elementary students the day before break! 🛍️👏 They pulled off another successful school store and did a fantastic job—way to go, 7th grade! 🎉
On the last day before Christmas break, PHS students got into the holiday spirit by playing games and watching movies 🎄🎬🎲 It was a fun and relaxing afternoon as everyone got ready for a well-earned break! 😊
Every day in the month of December, the 4K classes were surprised with a Guest Reader that came in to read their favorite Holiday Story. Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, teachers, retired teachers, and even Mrs. Claus who came in to read to us.

Events for Potosi High School over Christmas Break: December 22-January 2
📚🏛️ Mrs. Udelhofen’s 5th grade class wrapped up an exciting Ancient Civilizations unit last month! 🌎✨
Students explored the Maya, Aztec, and Inca civilizations by learning about their farming methods, architecture, social classes, and daily life. During the unit, students researched the Mayan city of Chichén Itzá, wrote reports, and built creative 3D models of the pyramid El Castillo 🏗️.
To conclude the unit, students created their own ancient codices and celebrated their learning with hands-on activities. Highlights included an Inca Rope Bridge STEM challenge, where teams worked together to build bridges strong enough to hold marbles—and even textbooks! 💪📘
The fun continued with ancient bead bracelets, a relay race representing the Inca communication and road system 🏃♂️, and tasting foods inspired by crops grown by these civilizations—corn 🌽, potatoes 🥔, and tomatoes and peppers 🌶️.
What a memorable and engaging way to bring ancient history to life!

Our 2nd grade classes had a great time at the Potosi Public Library! 📚✨
Students received their own library cards 🪪, checked out two books 📖📖, and were gifted a library bag 🎒 and reading journal ✍️📓.

Mrs. Uppena’s 3rd grade class had a fun and meaningful day this week! As students wrapped up their unit on the human body, Hayden’s mom visited to teach the class about CPR. Everyone geared up and ready to learn, she shared her powerful personal story about using CPR to save Hayden’s life. While students hope they never need to use this skill, they learned how important it is to know the basics. One of the videos below can help others learn, too!
