Brad Bierman is the head coach of the Potosi/ Cassville girls basketball team. It is Brad Bierman’s 12th season coaching girls basketball at Potosi High school. Brad also coached 7 years of boys basketball, before Mr. Uppena took over.

Potosi and Cassville made the decision to join each other when this year's seniors were freshmen. I wanted to know how that affected the team dynamic and how everything has been going these past four years.

This year there are three seniors from Potosi and three seniors from Cassville. Five of the six seniors have been together all four years, and have become very close to each other, even outside of basketball. Brad says that the first year of the co-op was probably the year that they had a hard time adjusting to. Brads say the co-op has only had positive effects on the team. The co-op has helped a lot with the depth of the teams.

The girl’s PC basketball team has worked a lot with Mr. Downs to help the girls connect with each other and do team bonding activities. They have learned a lot of leadership skills working with Mr. Downs. Some of the things the girls do to get closer together as a team and even outside of basketball is taking trips to the state games or going to badger games.

The co-op has made the positions on the team a lot harder and more competitive. Brad says, “Having additional players competing for playing time always makes things more competitive. Brad thinks that the co-op has helped sustain the success of the girl’s successful seasons.
