There is a new craze going around hunting and it is cell cameras. They are very fun to use because they send pictures to your phone and you don’t have to worry about taking time out of your day to go check cameras. I am going to give you the pros and cons of the Tactacam Reveal X, Browning, and Cuddeback.

The Tactacam Reveal X is brand new for 2021, and it is one of the cheapest cellular cameras on the market starting at $120. Some of the positive features of this camera are that it can detect movement at 90 feet, and it has a fairly cheap cell plan at $13 a month. Another positive quality is it can last you for up to six months on lithium ion batteries. Here are some of the things I dislike about this camera: you can’t take videos with this camera, and you have to pull the sd card from the camera and look at the pictures on your computer to see the higher quality pictures. Another thing I dislike about this camera is that it doesn’t use infrared when taking pictures at night, so the animals can clearly see that the camera is there.

The Browning Defender cellular camera is also brand new for 2021, but it will be one of the higher priced cameras starting at $200. Some of the positive features of this camera are it can detect movement at 80 feet, also it has a very cheap cell plan starting at $10 a month. Another positive feature is it has a two year warranty, so if it stops working, you can get a new one. Here are some of the things that I don’t like about this camera: you need 16 AA batteries for this camera which seems like quite a lot. Another thing I don’t like about this camera is the set up process with the carrier takes a while. One last thing I dislike about this camera is that it costs a lot of money to buy.

The Cuddeback Cuddelink cellular camera was first released in 2016, so it is one of the older cellular cameras. One of the positive features of this camera is that you can buy more cameras and the cell plan will stay the same. Another positive quality is you will only need four D batteries, and the batteries should last you up to twelve months. The next positive quality is that you don’t need cell reception for the camera because it will send the picture to a camera that does have reception, then it will send it to you. Here are some of the things I don’t like about Cuddebacks cellular cameras: they aren’t very cheap to buy. For example, their cheapest camera costs $200. Another thing I dislike about the Cuddeback is that it may take up to an hour to send the picture to your phone if you have multiple cameras. The last thing I dislike about the camera is that it only has a 50 foot detection range, which is not very good.

I would recommend the Tactacam Reveal X for the hunter who is just starting to get into hunting and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money, because it is cheap to buy and the cell plans are pretty cheap as well, along with the fact that the Reveal X is a very high quality camera. If I wanted to get a lot of cell cameras, and have been hunting for a while, I would recommend the Cuddeback cell camera, because you can add up to 20 cameras and the cell plan will stay at $20.
