Having a long-distance relationship is not always easy because the distance can get to you when it comes to how often you get to see them. For me, it is hard to see my girlfriend because there is a big distance between us and there is the disadvantage of us not having driver's licenses, so neither of us can drive to see each other.

My girlfriend lives in Iowa and I live in Wisconsin, so I have to get a ride out of state to see her, then get back. It's not horrible trying to get a ride, it's just hard trying to find a weekend that works. It is a waiting game finding the right time. When we have the ability to see each other we like to watch movies and ride around; because laying around gets boring, we drive around on the side by side UTV.

In the meantime, we make up for the distance with online communication through Snapchat, Houseparty, and phone calls. Houseparty is a fancy way to Facetime without an iPhone. Having good communication is important in a relationship so your partner knows what's going on in your relationship. Another important quality is to have trust because when you don't trust someone it tells someone you think bad about them; trust them. If that's not something you're good at, try and identify why you do not want to trust someone. If you don't trust them, they are either not qualified for you or not honest with you about what has happened in their past, maybe just discuss your thoughts. Trust is key in any relationship to work; if you want to have a successful relationship to last, contain yourself or maybe just talk about your thoughts.
