Imagine what it would be like to come to a new school during a pandemic. If you think that is bad enough, try learning faces when you can't see anyone's face. Everyone is wearing a mask, so it is hard to see who they are, such as Mr. Fry. I would have never guessed he had facial hair if he had not taken a drink of water one day. There is also the problem of making friends with the pandemic and switching schools during it, but there is nothing to say except that we are all in this together.  I know there have been a lot of doubts about me moving schools. Thanks to all my teachers for their support and positivity, I have made my way through this. I am proud to be here and have the teachers on my side to help me through a new school.

My teachers are helping me through school with the goal of a better future. I can now focus on the future and what's ahead of me, and not tread on what is dragging me down, because that is when I lose focus on my school work. It is a lot different from Fennimore because my teachers here seem to help more than there, and I feel like I have a better chance since my grades have been better than ever. I feel like the school I am at now is a lot better for me because teachers take their time helping me and they do not pass me by. Teachers right now have a lot on their plates trying to make sure each student is getting by with their school work. Teachers also have to make sure they remember which students are coming to school face to face and which students are going to be online for the day, or some students who have been online throughout the entire school year.

Fitting in at a new school has been hard since I am the new kid, but especially hard during a pandemic. Once you get to know someone, it could change in an instant. Once you get used to what someone looks like, that could also change. I am happy I have good teachers to talk to about the issues I am having at school, especially our guidance counselor Mrs. Foote. Not only is she helping students overcome the ups and downs of the pandemic, she is also making sure the new kids are finding comfort in an unknown school. I can honestly say that I am happy with how the school year is going, the environment set forth by the teachers, and I am also confident that I can finish this year and next year strong.
