Tessa has always been intrigued by drawing since she learned how to pick up a pencil. She started noticing that her talent was a bit more distinctive than her peers’ around the 2nd and 3rd grades.
Tessa Seippel was born nine weeks prematurely, weighing 2 pounds, 14 ounces at delivery. Tessa was born in Madison but raised in Potosi, WI, where she attended school her whole life. Tessa was a little different from most of her classmates. Tessa has little to no interest in sports or any extracurricular activities that require physical competitiveness, so her peace of mind was art.
Her artistic touch doesn't just come from her, but instead runs in her family, specifically Tessa’s mother’s side of the family; her aunts, uncles, and cousins all have that artistic touch. Tessa’s mother decided she was done with art after high school, but Tessa decided to keep going and pursue art after high school. Tessa plans on attending SWTC ( Southwest Tech) for radiography next year.
She has taken every art class available at Potosi schools, including 2D art, studio art, 3D Art, and even photography. After that, she took an independent art class, which is given to students who have already completed the maximum amount of art classes provided. Tessa also uses her artistic gift to contribute to our yearbook and assignments in many of her other classes.
Tessa has participated in the annual art contest every year since her freshman year, which is held in Platteville. She's also participated in VAC every year since her sophomore year. During Tessa’s journey, she has won twice in regionals and also made it to state.
She has won multiple silver and gold awards in other competitions as well, including entering her art at the Grant County Fair to compete in the open section. Tessa has multiple awards in the annual UW-Platteville art contest, and she's also won three of the four times she's participated.
Art is something that Tessa will always continue to strive to improve. Tessa learned not to rush her art as well as to ease herself from the habit of procrastinating. Art is something that will always be a major part of Tessa’s life, and represents her accomplishments over years.
