Jeremy Haas always had a dream of owning his own auto repair shop ever since his dad never got the opportunity to open one. The first couple of years were rough because Jeremy didn't have the knowledge that he should have had, but he just kept learning from his mistakes. The new customers had to be won over because they were scared that he didn't know what he was doing, and having to build trust with the bank was an obstacle too.
Jeremy named his business Haaser’s Auto Repair in 2006 and he actually lives right by it off of the highway leading to Lancaster. His first shop was an old shed that the Crapp family owned back when they used to live there. Jeremy eventually built his own shop right by the old shed and has been using it ever since. Throughout the years he has not had any full time employees that have worked there. The only part time employees he's had were his brother and his son throughout the years that he's owned Haasers Auto Repair.
Jeremy was always working on vehicles and figuring out ways to fix things. His first things were small engines like four wheelers and lawnmowers, then he got into bigger engines on different vehicles. Robert, Jeremy's dad, was always working on engines and car parts around the farm that Jeremy decided that's what he wanted to do with his life.
He loved the new challenges that he faced every day and making the customers happy that their vehicles were back in good shape. “The one thing that I hate the most is all the rust that forms on the vehicles when they come into my shop.” Jeremy always disliked being in Wisconsin because of all the rust, but always found a way to avoid it and fix the part that needed to be fixed. There were times that he had to actually take a bunch of rust off just to get to the part and fix it.
What he likes the most about owning a business is that he can take time off for his kids so he doesn’t have to miss any of their school events. Jeremy has always found a way to give back to his community other than fixing their cars, too. He has donated money to homecoming events and the football team over the years.
