Blood Drive

ImpactLife is a nonprofit, independent, community blood center founded in Davenport, Iowa in 1974  as Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center . Throughout the years they have expanded into Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin, while also changing their name to Impact Life. ImpactLife’s website explained that they changed their name because it “allowed us to bring the organization together under a unified identity that truly embraces our mission.” They collect blood at 22 fixed-site donor centers throughout those states - Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin - and at more than 5,000 mobile blood drives held each year. ImpactLife provides blood products to more than 120 hospitals in this 4-state region. ImpactLife will celebrate 50 Years of Saving Lives in 2024. The company was created with the concept of bringing shared blood services to life in the Quad Cities region. They united Rock Island County, Illinois, and Scott County, Iowa to help progress their common goal of having a safe and plentiful blood supply for patients in local hospitals.

ImpactLife values local donors by primarily supplying local hospitals. ImpactLife representative Erica Davidson explained, “Our primary focus is ensuring the availability of blood components needed for patient care within our service region.” She added, “In this way, we're making sure local blood donors within our service region have the opportunity to meet the needs of hospitals in the communities we serve.” By focusing so much on local hospitals, ImpactLife helps build community bonds and helps donors see their impact on their community. Along with helping your community by donating blood components with ImpactLife, you are also eligible for Donor Rewards. ImpactLife uses a point-based system to give back to donors and allow them to cash in their points for ImpactLife merchandise, or sometimes cash.

The collaboration with ImpactLife also gives our SADD club the opportunity to earn a scholarship that will benefit a senior who has been involved in helping our community as a member of SADD. a scholarship fund to benefit seniors who play an active role in helping our community through SADD.
