Painting and sandblasting play a big part in the automotive industry, as these are the most important steps in restoring vehicles or removing rust. The local business Luke Droessler Painting, Sand Blasting, and Auto Body specializes in the repair, restoration, and painting of agricultural machinery and personal automotive.

Luke Droessler Sr. started his business in 1998 in Dickyville, Wisconsin. He started with just painting and sandblasting. He wanted to start his business because he had a passion for what he had been doing and really enjoyed it. Being a small business owner in a trade where there were not a lot of others around doing what he did, he started to grow as a business. He began hiring people who were close to him as he continued to grow as the years went on, expanding into what his business is today. Today he has three other employees working for him, and his business has expanded to include general autobody work.

When I asked Luke Droessler Sr. what it was like starting his business from scratch and building it from the ground up, he responded that it was, “sometimes hard, sometimes good.” As the economy changed, the cost of materials continued to fluctuate. His ability to work through adversity is making his work become a more valuable trade.

When you have an autobody business, you see a lot and get to work on a lot. It can range from large agricultural machinery and equipment to trucks you see on the road. He sees a lot of diversity through what he gets to work on. Sometimes he could be polishing a truck or tractor, replacing rusty parts, or painting vehicles. He just never knows what people are going to bring in, and it really teaches him all about the various types of vehicles he gets to work on.
