Angie Oyen graduated from Potosi in 1995 and is now an Educational Assistant at Potosi Middle and High School.  This is Angie’s first year at Potosi.  Prior to being an EA in Potosi, she had some different jobs.

Out of high school, Angie got her certified nursing assistant (CNA) license at Southwest Tech (SWTC). She didn't go any further with this career.  Angie then worked at a cheese factory for 10 years.  After working in the cheese factory, she landed a job as a secretary at SS. Andrew Thomas Catholic School.  She really loved her job there, but had to leave due to moving.  With her move to Oostburg, she got a job at an eye clinic before getting hired as an Educational Assistant for the Sheboygan School District.

In Sheboygan, she worked with children with autism.  Angie enjoys working with children.  When asked what her teaching style was, she responded, “Every child is different and learns differently, and you have to go day to day with moods and how you can approach things.”  She said she has to get to know the students and see how and when they learn the best for each student.

Angie moved back to Potosi and was hired at our school this year.  This is her hometown and she really likes the students here and her coworkers.  Angie uses the same techniques in Potosi as she did in Sheboygan when it comes to working with her students.  Angie will also be helping coach the girls JV basketball team, and she is excited about this new adventure.
